A very fine quality late 17th century burr walnut cabinet on chest from the Queen Anne/William and Mary period with outstanding patina and nutty colour, and of desirable compact proportions. The shaped cornice above a deep convex moulding which conceals a drawer behind, and two doors below enclosing an arrangement of 11 drawers around a central cupboard with recessed drawers within and secret compartment behind. The base with two short and three long graduated drawers and standing on ball feet.
A superb example of English cabinet making of the Queen Anne/William and Mary period in exceptional condition for a piece of this age. (The brass handles to the base have been replaced with a set of similar age and showing no visible signs to the drawer fronts).
